The BRDC British Formula 3 Championship has extended its television deal with ITV4 until the end of 2018, with the free-to-air channel screening post-event broadcasts of every round of the UK’s premier single-seater category across the next two seasons.
ITV4 and ITV4 HD will broadcast a dedicated one-hour programme from each BRDC British F3 meeting one week after the event. These programmes will feature highlights of every race weekend’s three races, as well as the pre-race build up, podium celebrations, post-race interviews, and behind-the-scenes features on the drivers. Once aired on the ITV network, the highlights show will be accessible to view online and on mobile devices via the ITV hub.
The new deal continues a successful partnership which has been in place since 2013 with ITV4, a leading channel with a predominantly sporting output and weekly reach of over 10 million viewers.
Jonathan Palmer, Chief Executive of BRDC British Formula 3 promoter MSV, said: “We are very pleased to extend our successful partnership with ITV4 for an additional two years. Our teams and drivers benefit tremendously from the exposure afforded by a major free-to-air channel and the racing is fantastic to watch. And given the calibre of drivers already committed to this year's championship, there's every chance a future F1 star will be amongst the winners.”
Further details of BRDC British Formula 3’s television package for 2017 will be announced in the near future.
